Brand lockup and palette generator
Studio Lab.
Type a business name. Move three mood sliders. Get a lockup, a five-color palette with contrast ratios, and a type pairing. All of it happens in your browser.

Ratios use the WCAG relative-luminance formula. 4.5 to 1 is the AA minimum for body text, 7 to 1 is AAA, and 3 to 1 is enough for large text and interface edges.
03 Type pairing
04 Tokens
Paste these into a stylesheet to start building with the direction. They are plain CSS custom properties.
Notes
How the lab works.
How to use it
- Type a business name, or tap a sample.
- Slide calm to bold for weight and saturation, classic to modern for letterforms and shape, warm to cool for hue.
- Press shuffle for another mark shape and a small color shift on the same mood.
- Read the ratio under each swatch before you trust a pairing for text.
- Save the lockup as SVG, or copy the CSS variables.
What it assumes
- The mark is a letter inside a simple shape. It is a sketch to react to, not a finished logo.
- Type uses fonts already on your device, so the preview differs between systems. The stacks list fallbacks.
- The same name and moods always give the same result. Shuffle changes the seed.
- Primary is darkened until it reads on the ground color at 4.5 to 1 or better.
- Names are not checked for availability or trademark conflicts.
Edge cases
- Empty nameThe lockup shows an empty state. Palette and type still follow the sliders.
- Very long nameAnything past 40 characters is trimmed, and the text is scaled to fit.
- Symbols or numbers onlyThese work, but the monogram uses the first character and may look odd.
- Saving not availableIf your browser blocks file saving, the lab says so and you can print instead.
